The original Coronation Street set is reopening to the public for a LIMITED TIME ONLY! Britain’s most famous street will be welcoming visitors this spring and summer giving them a unique opportunity to enjoy a behind the scenes tour and walk down the cobbles one final time. Don’t miss out on your chance to visit this iconic set where 53 years of TV history were made!
Coronation Street – The Tour
The highlight of our break will be a visit to Coronation Street’s former home on Quay Street in Manchester, which served as Weatherfield for over 50 years. Our visit will take between one and two hours and will include a guided tour of Stage One where we can see some of the soap’s best-known sets and highlights of the years of Corrie, followed by time to walk along the famous cobbles of the Street itself. Studio guides will share fascinating facts and stories from over five decades of filming at the former site. There will also be a café and souvenir shops to enjoy as part of our “Behind the Scenes” visit.
We’ll also have time at leisure in Salford Quays, set on Manchester’s historic waterfront. There’s a selection of bars and restaurants to choose from plus the Lowry Outlet Mall for a spot of retail therapy. The Quays are also home to the Lowry Galleries, housing the largest public collection of the artist’s work, as well as the Imperial War Museum North. Here you can discover powerful war stories or climb the unique Air Shard for spectacular views over the city. Interestingly, the new home of Coronation Street (not open to the public) is also located on the Quays.
We’ll stay at a comfortable hotel near Manchester, conveniently located for our excursions. All rooms are en-suite and other facilities include a bar and restaurant.
