The First World War - One Hundred Years On

One hundred years ago, the tragic events of the Great War, witnessed by the regions of Flanders and Picardy, finally came to an end. Major battles were fought and the scale of military casualties from the German and Allied armies amounted to several hundred thousand dead. We’ll visit some of the museums, battlefields, memorials and war cemeteries of the Western Front where we hear stories of great human sacrifice and bravery. Join us on this journey of remembrance, where we pay homage to the soldiers and civilians who gave their lives during World War One.
