Christmas Eve – Salisbury

We travel to Salisbury on Christmas Eve. As well as being a great place for shopping, the city is home to a fine medieval cathedral that boasts the tallest spire in Britain and an original copy of the Magna Carta. Often referred to as ‘the city in the countryside’, Salisbury is also within easy walking distance of water meadows and riverside walks.

Christmas Day

Christmas Day is a day of relaxation and leisure in Bournemouth, where our hotel provides festive entertainment and a hearty Christmas lunch with all the trimmings.

Boxing Day – Optional excursion to Dorchester, Poole & Sandbanks (£10pp)

We begin our optional excursion with a visit to the charming county town of Dorchester. This historic market town lies on the banks of the River Frome and is probably best known as the birthplace of the author and poet Thomas Hardy. We continue on to Poole with its lovely quayside, stunning natural harbour, fine beaches and historic Old Town. We return to the hotel via Sandbanks, a small peninsula of half a square mile crossing the mouth of Poole harbour, which contains some of the most expensive houses in the country and is sometimes dubbed ‘Britain’s Palm Beach’.

Upgrade to the Royal Bath Hotel for £120pp

The Royal Bath Hotel is nestled in secluded grounds on Bournemouth’s seafront. Opened on Queen Victoria’s Coronation Day in 1838, it was the first hotel in Bournemouth. Leisure facilities include an indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room and gym (small charge applies).
