Day 1
Ferry to Calais and overnight stay in Germany.

Day 2
Continue to our hotel in Berlin where we stay for the next two nights

Day 3 – Berlin
Few cities have experienced so much change in recent years as Germany’s capital city of Berlin. Once divided, now reunited, the city is full of contrasts with a variety of historical and modern attractions. We enjoy a guided city tour which covers some of the most important sights including the Brandenburg Gate, a former symbol of the divided city. After our tour, we have time at leisure in the city.

Day 4 – Berlin to Krakow
We leave Berlin and head south-east over the border into Poland, continuing on to our hotel in Krakow, our base for the next three nights.

Day 5 – Krakow
This morning we explore Krakow with a guided walking tour, followed by free time. Situated at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains, this wonderful city has a rich variety of architecture and some of the main sights include the Royal Wawel Castle, St Mary’s Basilica and the Renaissance Cloth Hall in the main Market Square.

Day 6 – Optional excursion to Auschwitz with guided tour (£20pp)
Join our optional excursion to Auschwitz. During the Second World War, the network of Nazi-run concentration camps exterminated around a million Jews, Poles, Roma and political prisoners. We visit the main camp for a moving guided tour taking in the residential barracks, ruined gas chambers and crematoria.

Day 7 – Krakow to Prague
Leaving Krakow, we cross the border into the Czech Republic, stopping en-route in Brno, the country’s second largest city. Highlights include Spilberk Castle and Saint Peter and Paul’s Cathedral on Petrov Hill. Later, we arrive at our Prague hotel where we stay for the next two nights.

Day 8 – Prague
We explore Prague with a guided city tour. Prague is one of Europe’s most impressive capitals, thanks to its grand squares, imposing Charles Bridge, Old Town, charming Astronomical Clock in the Old Town Square and Prague Castle, perched high above the city. After our tour, there’s time for a leisurely afternoon in the city.
