Ocean View Hotel

The Ocean View Hotel is located in the pretty resort of Shanklin, just a stone’s throw away from Shanklin Beach. Hotel facilities include a restaurant, piano lounge and an indoor swimming pool and the en-suite rooms feature tea and coffee-making facilities and a TV.

Hotel Rating

Hotels with a JG3 rating tend to be a more formal style of hotel, often part of a hotel chain, with a greater range of facilities and services. Bedrooms are a little more spacious and have additional features. Public areas are larger and include lounge seating, a bar and restaurant with good quality food served either buffet style or with waiter service.

Day 1
From a morning pick up in your local area we travel by coach to the ferry and travel onwards to our hotel.

Day 2 – Newport 
Today we visit the bustling capital of the island, Newport. This lovely town centres on two squares with elegant Georgian and Victorian architecture surrounding them. We can explore the historic quayside or browse the selection of speciality shops here.

Back at the hotel this afternoon, we enjoy a fun-filled tea dance with tea, coffee and cake.

Day 3 – Optional excursion to Ventnor & Godshill (£8pp)
On our optional half-day excursion we first visit Ventnor, a pretty seaside town built on a series of terraces. Here we can enjoy a stroll along the esplanade and there is a variety of tempting cafés and restaurants. We then continue to the pretty inland village of Godshill with its charming thatched-roofed cottages, medieval church, tearooms and gift shops.

Later we enjoy a relaxing movie afternoon at the hotel, complete with tea, coffee and biscuits.

Day 4
After breakfast we check out of the hotel and make our way home.
