Ferry to Calais and overnight stay in France on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 3 – Udine
We continue our journey, stopping en-route in Udine in north-east Italy. The city boasts an impressive hilltop castle while in the central Piazza della Libertà there are beautiful Renaissance buildings to admire including the pink and white marble palace; Loggia del Lionello. Later we cross the border into Croatia and check in to our hotel in Rabac, located on the eastern coast of Istria.
Day 4 – Rabac Boat Cruise
This morning we head out on a boat cruise, admiring the panoramic beauty of the Rabac coastline with its magnificent scenery, secluded coves and crystal clear waters. The rest of the day is free to explore at leisure. Rabac is an idyllic resort town situated on Kvarner Bay offering a white pebble beach, a waterfront promenade and a maze of alleyways lined with traditional restaurants, bars and cafés plus shops selling hand-made crafts.
Day 5 – Day at leisure
Day 6 – Pula
Today we visit the lovely seafront city of Pula on the tip of the Istrian Peninsula. Known for its protected harbour, attractive beaches and well-preserved Roman amphitheatre, we learn more about the city on our guided walking tour before time at leisure.
Day 7 – Rovinj, Vrsar & Poreč
We visit some of Istria’s highlights today. The small fishing village of Rovinj is our first point of call with its scenic old town standing proudly on a headland. Explore the cobbled streets and admire the beautiful views, before we continue to Vrsar. Discover the atmospheric old town and the beautiful marina here. The seafront promenade is perfect for a stroll too. Our final stop is Poreč, an ancient Roman town boasting beautiful beaches, restaurants and bars plus the stunning Euphrasian Basilica – a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 8 – Padua
We check out of our hotel and travel to our overnight hotel in Italy, stopping en-route in Padua. Located in northern Italy’s Veneto region, this university city’s biggest attraction is the Scrovegni Chapel which boasts impressive frescoes by Giotto.
Travel to our overnight hotel in France, with a light evening meal included.
Continue to Calais for our return ferry home.
