Chatsworth House

Situated in the heart of the Peak District, Chatsworth House is one of the UK’s real gems. Stroll through 25 rooms and marvel at works of art spanning over 4,000 years, including magnificent ornate ceilings, Roman and Egyptian sculptures, plus paintings from artists including Rembrandt and Van Dyck.

Every grand staircase and room you enter is like a scene from a period drama, a feast for the eyes with some of the finest and priceless art to exist in the world. The Sculpture Gallery is equally impressive and features a collection of items collected over the years including large white marble Italian sculptures and the largest vase in the world made from Blue John stone.

Outside, the 105-acre gardens are also a real treat with perfectly manicured lawns, spectacular flower beds and a rockery garden, all of which can be explored by wandering on foot along the five miles of designated trails. There are plenty of sculptures to discover in the grounds too as well as numerous ponds and fountains, most notably the eye-catching Cascade waterfall which flows down 24 different shaped steps.
