Itinerary

Ferry to Calais and overnight stay in Germany on a bed and breakfast basis.

We make our way to our hotel in the Nuremberg area for our overnight stay, with an en-route stop in the picturesque town of Rüdesheim am Rhein. Wander the charming streets and enjoy some lunch at your leisure before travelling down the Rhine Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site of beautiful landscapes, vineyards and breathtaking views of the river winding through the hills.

This morning, we make our way to Hotel Residence Emmy in Prague, stopping en route in Plzeň, the birthplace of Pilsner beer. Explore the Old Town of pastel-coloured townhouses and grand squares, and visit St. Bartholomew’s Gothic Cathedral. There's time to stop for lunch at your leisure before continuing with our journey.

We explore Prague this morning, one of Europe’s most impressive capitals, thanks to its grand squares, imposing Charles Bridge, Old Town, charming Astronomical Clock in the Old Town Square and Prague Castle, perched high above the city and reckoned to be the largest ancient castle in the world. The castle is a magnificent complex that has served as the seat of power for Czech kings, emperors and presidents. We enjoy entrance to the castle, its interior rich in art and historic artefacts.

Karlovy Vary, also known as Carlsbad, is famous for its hot springs and architectural marvels, including elegant colonnades and beautifully landscaped parks. Enjoy a stroll along the Teplá River, explore the historic town centre, or simply unwind in this serene environment. We stop here for an included lunch and then travel onwards to the hotel.

We make our way to Ostrava, with an en-route stop at Brno. Czechia's 'second city,' Brno is a lively spot, with beautiful Art Nouveau villas, playful statues and quirky sculptures, with St. James Square full of trendy bistros, making it an ideal stop for lunch. In Ostrava, there is plenty to explore, and we find out more about the sites of this region on our guided tour.

Our optional excursion takes us to the town of Roznov Pod Radhostem, nestled in the picturesque Beskydy Mountains and to Olomouc, a city with a wealth of historic buildings, including the UNESCO-listed Holy Trinity Column and the impressive St. Wenceslas Cathedral. We explore cobblestone streets and experience the lively atmosphere of the main square, before heading back to the hotel to enjoy a farewell dinner together.

During our panoramic coach tour of Dresden, we explore the architectural beauty of the city and learn more about its history. The tour takes us through the city's vibrant streets, allowing us to admire the stunning Baroque and Renaissance buildings. Key highlights include the iconic Frauenkirche, the Semper Opera House and the Zwinger Palace.

On our way to the Dortmund area, we make an en-route stop in Kassel for lunch (not included). With plenty of dining options, we experience the culinary delights of the local cuisine before continuing on our journey.

Continue to Calais for our return ferry home.
