Day 1

From a morning pickup in your local area, we travel by coach to York, where we enjoy some free time at leisure to explore. York Minster, the largest Gothic Cathedral north of the Alps, is a masterpiece, in stained glass and stone and a highlight of any trip to York. Don’t miss the famous Betty’s English Tea Room, the cobbled streets of The Shambles (Europe’s oldest shopping street), and Stonegate, with its many oak-beamed shops, pubs and cafés. Later, we check into our hotel in time for dinner.

Day 2

After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and head to the charming coastal town of Whitby, for its annual Regatta. At the harbour, take in the festivities at one of the UK’s longest-running seafaring celebrations filled with a wide range of entertainment. Wander around the quirky streets and the picturesque harbour before tackling the climb up to the atmospheric ruined abbey, perched on the cliffs above the town. Later, we rejoin the coach for our journey home.
