Itinerary

Ferry to Calais and on to our hotel in Rüdesheim am Rhein where we stay on a bed and breakfast basis.

We enjoy a leisurely day in the charming town of Rüdesheim am Rhein. Wander the cobbled streets of the Altstadt, browse quaint shops or unwind with a glass of Riesling in a cosy wine tavern. For a different perspective, take the cable car for sweeping views over the vineyards and the Rhine or visit the fascinating Siegfried’s Mechanical Music Cabinet.

Enjoy a scenic journey along the Rheinuferstraße as we follow the east bank of the Rhine to Koblenz, where the Moselle meets the Rhine. Koblenz is a historic city with a rich heritage, offering visitors a chance to explore its ancient architecture. The city's strategic location has made it a significant military and commercial centre throughout history, and its charming old town is a testament to its past. Enjoy time at leisure to stroll the riverside promenade, visit the Deutsches Eck or relax in a café. Our coach returns by a different route along the west bank, crossing the river by the charming Bingen Ferry for a fitting end to our Rhine discovery.

Travel back to Calais for our return ferry home.

Accommodation

The Rheinstein Hotel enjoys a central location on the Rhine promenade, just a short walk away from the Drosselgasse. This hotel offers en-suite rooms with a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, a bar and restaurant.

Hotel Rating

Hotels with a JG3 rating tend to be a more formal style of hotel, often part of a hotel chain, or are very-welcoming family-owned properties. Generally, they offer a greater range of facilities and services, and bedrooms tend to be a little more spacious with additional features. Public areas are larger and include lounge seating, bar and restaurant with good quality food served either buffet style or waiter service.
