Brighten up the quieter months with some of England's prettiest gems on this weekend trip. Honey-hued buildings, cosy tea rooms and lovely shops await in the quaint Cotswold towns of Stow-on-the-Wold and Broadway, surrounded by picturesque rolling countryside, while our visit to Stratford-upon-Avon is perfect for fans of its most famous resident, William Shakespeare. Featuring a fantastic bar offer too, go ahead and treat yourself!

Itinerary

We head first to the quintessential Cotswold village of Broadway, often referred to as the ‘Jewel of the Cotswolds’, with its picturesque High Street lined with golden-hued stone buildings and tea rooms. We also explore the beautiful market town of Stow-on-the-Wold, renowned for its traditional stone architecture and wonderful collection of artisan boutiques.

Full Day

We journey to the beautiful town of Stratford-upon-Avon, forever associated with William Shakespeare. Fans of The Bard can visit the house in which he was born, and there’s a chance to wander the riverside gardens or discover the town’s theatres including the Swan Theatre, home of the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Half Day

Accommodation

We’ll stay at a well-appointed hotel in the Coventry area such as the Britannia Hotel or Royal Court Hotel. The comfortable rooms are en suite and other facilities include a bar and restaurant. All meals are buffet style.

Your hotel will be confirmed approximately 3 weeks before departure, therefore we cannot guarantee that the hotel will have a lift and/or ground floor rooms and may be unsuitable for those with limited mobility.

Hotel Rating

Hotels with a JG2 rating are a mixture of larger hotels and privately owned properties. Décor and furnishings may be simple but are clean and well maintained. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities, TV and may have tea/coffee making facilities. Food may be buffet style in some of the larger hotels. Services may be limited but efficient.
