Eastbourne - The Sunshine Coast

We visit the bustling market town of Lewes, surrounded by the spectacular chalk cliffs of the South Downs. Known for its rich heritage and independent spirit, Lewes is home to historic buildings, charming lanes and traditional markets. The imposing Norman castle dominates the skyline, offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Visitors can enjoy exploring the town’s antique shops, cosy cafés and landmarks such as Anne of Cleves House or the 15th-century bookshop, all adding to the town’s unique character.

This morning, we head to the ancient hilltop town of Rye. With its historic charm and crooked Tudor buildings, it's a lovely place to visit. Stroll along the sloping lanes lined with cosy pubs and discover secret passages that smugglers once favoured or visit St. Mary’s Church tower.

Next, we visit the coastal town of Hastings, part of the famous 1066 Country. Here we find the remains of the first castle built by William the Conqueror and wander through the preserved Old Town with its winding narrow streets.

We head to Brighton on our optional excursion, popular for its iconic tourist attractions such as the Royal Pavilion with its exotic oriental architecture. Enjoy a stroll along the famous promenade or head to the ‘Lanes’ area, crammed with quirky boutiques.
