Itinerary

Today we explore the Ayrshire Coast and make our first stop at the popular seaside resort of Ayr. This little beach town boasts a charming seafront with an esplanade and many fine Georgian and Victorian buildings. Our next stop is Troon, which overlooks the Isle of Arran and offers stunning sandy beaches, which featured in the popular historical series Outlander, and a wealth of charming independent cafés and unique boutiques.

Full day

We have a full day to experience Loch Lomond’s stunning scenery, along with visits to the enchanting wee villages of Balloch, known as the gateway to the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, and Luss which boasts prim rows of chocolate-box cottages, striking hills and incredible views stretching out across the waters of the Loch.

Full day

On our way home, we enjoy a stop at the marriage capital of the world, Gretna Green. In this famous village lies the original spot where young eloping couples would marry ‘over the anvil’ at the Blacksmiths Shop.

On our optional excursion, we make our way to Glasgow on the banks of the River Clyde. The lively and modern city is a cultural hot spot, boasting a wealth of art and culture and the best shopping outside of London, with everything to offer from High Street stores and designer labels to speciality outlets for the more unique items. You may also like to visit one of the world-class museums such as the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and the Riverside Museum, which celebrates the city’s industrial heritage, or see the iconic Glasgow Cathedral, a medieval masterpiece.

Accommodation

Set in its own private grounds, the Adamton Country House Hotel, Prestwick is nestled within the beautiful countryside and offers a warm Scottish welcome. All meals are buffet style.
