Itinerary

From a morning pick up in your local area we travel by coach to the beautifully preserved town of Stamford, nestled in the heart of Lincolnshire. Famed for its honey-stone buildings and timeless charm, Stamford offers a captivating blend of history and elegance. Stroll its cobbled streets lined with independent shops and cosy cafés, admire the grand architecture of Burghley House, or enjoy a peaceful walk along the scenic banks of the River Welland. Later, we check into our hotel, arriving in time to enjoy dinner and our first night’s stay.

Following breakfast at the hotel, we head to Stratford-upon-Avon, well-known for being the birthplace of William Shakespeare. Visitors can explore the historic streets lined with Tudor-style buildings and visit Shakespeare's Birthplace, a museum dedicated to the playwright's life and works. The town offers a variety of attractions, including the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, where you can enjoy performances of Shakespearean plays. Additionally, you can stroll along the scenic River Avon, take a boat tour, or relax in the beautiful gardens of Bancroft Gardens.

Afterwards, we enjoy some free time in Leicester, before the coach takes us back to our hotel in time for dinner.

We check out of the hotel after breakfast and head to Market Bosworth for some free time to explore. Worth a visit during our stop here is the White Boar Inn, where Richard III spent the night before the Battle of Bosworth. Later, we rejoin the coach for our journey home.

Hotel Rating

Hotels with a JG3 rating tend to be a more formal style of hotel, often part of a hotel chain, or are very-welcoming family-owned properties. Generally, they offer a greater range of facilities and services, and bedrooms tend to be a little more spacious with additional features. Public areas are larger and include lounge seating, bar and restaurant with good quality food served either buffet style or waiter service.
