Come along and celebrate Christmas beside the seaside in the traditional resort of Bournemouth, where there’s plenty of time to relax, have fun and enjoy the festivities at our hotel, including a lovely lunch with all the trimmings. We also explore some of the highlights of the area, with Christmas Eve spent amid the magical landscapes of the New Forest (think native ponies gathered in wintry woodlands and charming towns aglow with festive cheer) and a Boxing Day trip to pretty Salisbury included.

  • Return coach travel
  • 4 nights at your selected hotel in Bournemouth (JG2 or JG3 rating) with dinner & breakfast. Christmas Day includes breakfast, a traditional Christmas lunch & a light evening buffet
  • Welcome drink
  • After-dinner tea & coffee
  • Light entertainment every evening
  • Excursions to the New Forest (Lymington & Lyndhurst) & Salisbury

Itinerary

After joining the coach, we make our way to our hotel and check in.

On Christmas Eve we explore the New Forest, England’s smallest National Park, famous for its tranquil ambience and free-roaming ponies. We visit the Forest’s capital of Lyndhurst and the coastal town and former smuggler’s port, Lymington, with its cobbled streets and attractive quayside.

Christmas Day is a lovely day of leisure at our hotel, including a traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings followed by Christmas cake, tea and coffee. A light buffet dinner is served in the evening.

On Boxing Day we head to Salisbury, often referred to as ‘the city in the countryside’ thanks to its beautiful backdrop of Wiltshire's rolling hills. As well as being a great place for shopping, the city is home to a fine medieval cathedral that boasts the tallest spire in Britain and an original copy of the Magna Carta.

After breakfast, we check out of our hotel and head for home.

Accommodation

Set in its own landscaped gardens, the Heathlands Hotel is located in the heart of Bournemouth just a short walk from the sandy beaches. The hotel offers comfortable en-suite rooms, a lounge bar and restaurant. Meals are buffet style.

Hotel Rating

Hotels with a JG2 rating are a mixture of larger hotels and privately owned properties. Décor and furnishings may be simple but are clean and well maintained. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities, TV and may have tea/coffee making facilities. Food may be buffet style in some of the larger hotels. Services may be limited but efficient.

The Royal Bath Hotel is nestled in secluded grounds on Bournemouth’s seafront. Opened on Queen Victoria’s Coronation Day in 1838, it was the first hotel in Bournemouth. Leisure facilities include an indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room and gym (small charge applies). Meals are buffet style.

Hotel Rating

Hotels with a JG3 rating tend to be a more formal style of hotel, often part of a hotel chain, or are very-welcoming family-owned properties. Generally, they offer a greater range of facilities and services, and bedrooms tend to be a little more spacious with additional features. Public areas are larger and include lounge seating, bar and restaurant with good quality food served either buffet style or waiter service.

The comfortable rooms are en suite and other facilities include a bar and restaurant. Meals may be buffet style.

Your hotel will be confirmed approximately 3 weeks before departure, therefore we cannot guarantee that the hotel will have a lift and/or ground floor rooms and may be unsuitable for those with limited mobility.
