  • Overnight stay at a selected hotel (JG3 or JG4 rating) with breakfast
  • En-route visits to York St Nicholas Fayre & Harrogate

Itinerary

From a morning pickup in your local area, we travel to the annual St Nicholas Fayre in York, one of the most popular festive markets in the country. Like stepping into a scene from a Dickens’ tale, the lively Victorian market stalls sell everything from local produce to traditional gifts and crafts. Treat yourself to delicious food, fresh from the farmers’ market, or indulge in a cup of warming mulled wine. Later on, we continue to the hotel for check in and our overnight stay.

After breakfast at the hotel, we head to the elegant Victorian spa town of Harrogate, located in the heart of scenic Yorkshire and full of festive cheer. Notable sights include the Royal Pump Room and the Grade II listed Royal Hall, and don’t miss the attractive Montpellier Quarter with its pedestrianised streets lined with 19th-century buildings. A festive treat in the iconic Bettys Tea Room is a must too! Afterwards, we re-join the coach for our return journey home.

Accommodation

We’ll stay at a well-appointed hotel such as the Leonardo Bradford and the Best Western St Pierre Wakefield. The comfortable rooms are en suite and other facilities include a bar and restaurant. Meals may be buffet style.

Your hotel will be confirmed approximately 3 weeks before departure, therefore we cannot guarantee that the hotel will have a lift and/or ground floor rooms and may be unsuitable for those with limited mobility.

Hotel Rating

Hotels with a JG3 rating tend to be a more formal style of hotel, often part of a hotel chain, or are very-welcoming family-owned properties. Generally, they offer a greater range of facilities and services, and bedrooms tend to be a little more spacious with additional features. Public areas are larger and include lounge seating, bar and restaurant with good quality food served either buffet style or waiter service.

Accommodation in our JG4 category is of an even higher standard, typically offering a wide range of facilities and services. Bedrooms are designed to make your stay the most comfortable possible and the staff provide a service that reflects the detail and quality. You can also expect higher standards of food and beverages.
