Itinerary

From a morning pickup in your local area we travel to our hotel, arriving in time to enjoy dinner.

We head to the historic town of Sandwich. Once a major port, there are still many original medieval buildings and half-timbered houses dotted around this enchanting town, making it a delightful place for a refreshing stroll. Later, we travel back to Folkestone for some free time before heading back to our hotel in the evening.

Today we visit the spellbinding city of Canterbury, home to the oldest cathedral in England, dating back to Norman times. There is plenty to explore within the city’s medieval walls, from quaint cobbled lanes to the lovely Christmas market, full of stalls selling a tempting array of handmade Christmas decorations, unique gifts and tasty seasonal treats.

After breakfast, we check out of our hotel and head for home.

Accommodation

The Grand Burstin Hotel is best known for its location, right next to Folkestone’s harbour and seafront. Simple yet comfortable throughout, all rooms have en-suite facilities and there is also a leisure club with a heated pool, gym and sauna (small charge applies). All meals are buffet style.

Hotel Rating

Hotels with a JG2 rating are a mixture of larger hotels and privately owned properties. Décor and furnishings may be simple but are clean and well maintained. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities, TV and may have tea/coffee making facilities. Food may be buffet style in some of the larger hotels. Services may be limited but efficient.
