Itinerary

After joining the coach, we make our way to our hotel and check in.

Today we visit the spellbinding city of Canterbury, home to the oldest cathedral in England, dating back to Norman times. There is plenty to explore within the city’s medieval walls, from quaint cobbled lanes and timber-framed buildings to a bustling shopping centre.

One of the highlights of 1066 Country awaits as we head to the coastal town of Hastings, which boasts the remains of the first castle in England to be built by William the Conqueror and a lovely preserved Old Town with half-timbered houses and narrow streets. Learn more about the history of the town (from smuggling to the pivotal role in the Norman Conquest) at one of the several museums, head to Hastings Contemporary to discover works by leading contemporary artists or enjoy some fresh air along the pier and admire the pretty views of the coastline.

We head to enchanting and historic Rochester. Boasting ancient buildings including an imposing castle and magnificent cathedral, the town was also a favourite of Charles Dickens who based many of his novels in the area.

After breakfast, we check out of our hotel and head for home.
