Itinerary

Check into our hotel in the afternoon. Later, we enjoy a welcome drink reception hosted by our tour manager, followed by dinner.

We discover Chavenage House, a historic Elizabethan manor, renowned for its fascinating history, including connections to the English Civil War and for its architectural beauty, characterised by striking stonework and intricate interiors. After exploring Chavenage House, we enjoy some free time in Tetbury, a charming market town of picturesque streets and independent shops. Relax in one of the town's cosy cafés or take in the beauty of its historic architecture, including the iconic Market House. We then head back to our hotel for some free time, and after an early dinner, we journey to Gloucester Cathedral for our evening concert, Belshazzar’s Feast.

Today begins with a visit to the historic market town of Cirencester, often referred to as the 'Capital of the Cotswolds', with a rich Roman heritage. Take a stroll down streets lined with boutique shops or wander to the courtyard where you'll find an ample choice of artisan cafés. Our next stop is the Painswick Rococo Garden, a unique and historic garden nestled in the Gloucestershire countryside. Famous for its whimsical design and vibrant displays, the garden showcases the Rococo style with its playful architecture, winding paths and colourful flowerbeds. We enjoy a guided tour to learn more about this enchanting place, focusing on its history and restoration. Afterwards, we head back to our hotel for a Sunday roast dinner and to change for our evening concert at Gloucester Cathedral, to see Rachmaninov Vespers – a wonderful end to our delightful itinerary.

After breakfast, check out of the hotel for the journey home.
