Watercress Line Steam Illuminations & Winchester

From a morning pickup in your local area, we travel by coach to Hampshire and the heritage tracks of the Watercress Line for a spectacular evening experience. As darkness falls, we board our steam train for the Steam Illuminations. Wrapped in thousands of LED lights and perfectly synchronised to festive music, the train becomes a dazzling moving light show as we glide through the countryside. It’s a magical journey filled with sparkle, seasonal songs and a feel-good atmosphere. Snacks and drinks are available to purchase on board. Afterwards, we continue to our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, we check out and travel to the historic city of Winchester, where we enjoy some free time to explore at our own leisure. At the heart of the city, the much-loved Winchester Cathedral Christmas Market awaits. Set within the historic Inner Close of Winchester Cathedral, this festive market is widely regarded as one of the best in Europe. Inspired by traditional German markets, more than 100 charming wooden chalets create a wonderful seasonal atmosphere, offering high-quality gifts, artisan crafts and tempting festive treats.

With time also to browse the independent shops or relax in a cosy café, it’s a delightful way to round off our break before we continue our journey home.
