Itinerary

From a morning pickup in your local area, we travel to our hotel. The coach then takes us to the British Museum. Discover the extraordinary Bayeux Tapestry Exhibition and immerse yourself in one of Europe’s most iconic historical stories. On loan from Bayeux, France, this remarkable 230-foot-long embroidered masterpiece was created in the 11th century and vividly chronicles the events leading up to the Norman Conquest. Beginning with the reign of Edward the Confessor and culminating in the Battle of Hastings in 1066, it offers a unique window into a defining moment in British history. After a day of exploring the museum, the coach takes us to our hotel for our overnight stay.

After breakfast at the hotel, we head back into central London to explore this vibrant city, enjoy some shopping or see the iconic sites. Our coach departs for home in the mid-afternoon.

Accommodation

We’ll stay at a well-appointed hotel (JG3 or JG4 rating) outside London. The comfortable rooms are en suite and facilities include a bar and restaurant.

Your hotel will be confirmed approximately 3 weeks before departure, therefore we cannot guarantee that the hotel will have a lift and/or ground floor rooms and may be unsuitable for those with limited mobility.

Hotel Rating

Hotels with a JG3 rating tend to be a more formal style of hotel, often part of a hotel chain, or are very-welcoming family-owned properties. Generally, they offer a greater range of facilities and services, and bedrooms tend to be a little more spacious with additional features. Public areas are larger and include lounge seating, bar and restaurant with good quality food served either buffet style or waiter service.

Accommodation in our JG4 category is of an even higher standard, typically offering a wide range of facilities and services. Bedrooms are designed to make your stay the most comfortable possible and the staff provide a service that reflects the detail and quality. You can also expect higher standards of food and beverages.
