Babbacombe & the Stunning Riviera Railway Line

From a morning pickup in your local area, we travel by coach to our hotel.

Today is free to relax in Babbacombe and enjoy the local area, or join our optional excursion to the seaside town of Teignmouth. Set where the River Teign meets the sea, this traditional resort combines a long sandy beach, elegant promenade and lovely harbour with a welcoming atmosphere. Take a stroll along the seafront, browse the independent shops and cafés or simply sit back and enjoy the coastal views. With its classic seaside character and beautiful setting, Teignmouth is a wonderful place to spend a leisurely afternoon.

Full Day

We begin the day in Exeter, Devon's historic cathedral city. Join an included guided walking tour and discover centuries of fascinating history as we explore the city's streets and medieval landmarks. Afterwards, enjoy some free time to explore at leisure, perhaps visiting the magnificent cathedral, browsing the independent shops or relaxing in one of the city's many cafés.

Later, we experience one of Britain's most scenic rail journeys as we travel on the famous Riviera Line. Running between Exeter and the South Devon coast, the route offers spectacular views as the railway hugs the shoreline, with dramatic cliffs, sandy beaches and sparkling sea stretching out beyond the windows. Sit back, relax and enjoy the ever-changing coastal scenery before rejoining our coach in Paignton.

Full Day

Today's excursion showcases two of Devon's most attractive seaside towns. We first visit Exmouth, situated at the mouth of the River Exe and gateway to the Jurassic Coast. Enjoy time to explore the lively seafront, stroll along the golden sands or browse the town's shops and cafés. Later, we continue to elegant Sidmouth, one of Devon's finest Regency resorts. Framed by striking red sandstone cliffs and the rolling countryside of East Devon, Sidmouth offers a wonderful mix of beautiful gardens, independent shops and a picturesque seafront.

After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and board the coach for the journey home.
