Eastbourne - the Sunshine Coast & 1066 Country

From a morning pickup in your local area, we travel by coach to our hotel.

We visit the bustling market town of Lewes, surrounded by the spectacular chalk cliffs of the South Downs. Known for its rich heritage and independent spirit, Lewes is home to historic buildings, charming lanes and traditional markets. The imposing Norman castle dominates the skyline, offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Take the chance to enjoy the town’s antique shops, cosy cafés and landmarks such as Anne of Cleves House or the 15^th-century bookshop, all adding to the town’s unique character.

Half Day

Our optional excursion takes us to Brighton, one of Britain's most vibrant seaside cities, combining iconic landmarks with a unique atmosphere. Enjoy time to explore the famous Lanes, a maze of narrow streets filled with independent shops, cafés and boutiques, stroll along the bustling seafront or admire the exotic architecture of the Royal Pavilion. From its historic attractions to its lively waterfront, Brighton offers plenty to discover at your own pace.

Full Day

The delights of 1066 Country await, stopping first in Battle, the scene of William the Conqueror’s famous victory. Take the chance to see the very battlefield where history happened as well as the Benedictine monastery, built to commemorate the victory, or discover the town's independent shops and galleries. Next is the coastal town of Hastings, which boasts the remains of the first castle in England to be built by William the Conqueror and a lovely preserved Old Town with half-timbered houses and narrow streets.

After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and board the coach for the journey home.
