Itinerary

LeShuttle to Calais and on to our hotel near Cologne.

Towering cathedral spires, riverside promenades and lively squares make Cologne one of Germany's most captivating cities. Spend the day exploring at your own pace, whether admiring the magnificent cathedral that dominates the skyline, wandering the charming lanes of the Old Town or browsing the city's many shops and museums. The city is also famous for its namesake perfume and traditional Kölsch beer, while a stroll across the iconic Hohenzollern Bridge offers wonderful views across the Rhine. This evening, there is time to enjoy dinner at leisure before returning to the hotel.

Where the mighty Rhine meets the Moselle, Koblenz offers some of Germany's most spectacular river scenery. From the Deutsches Eck, where the Rhine and Moselle meet beneath the impressive Kaiser Wilhelm Monument, our optional two-hour river cruise will take us along a beautiful stretch of the Rhine passing the Electoral Palace of Koblenz, the magnificent Lahneck and Stolzenfels Castles, and St. John's Monastery at the mouth of the Lahn. Afterwards, enjoy free time at leisure to explore Koblenz's Old Town, stroll along the riverside or perhaps catch the cable car to soar high above the river to the mighty Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. Perched 118 metres above the Rhine and one of Europe's largest fortresses, this remarkable landmark rewards visitors with breathtaking views across Koblenz and the surrounding river valleys. There's time to find an early dinner at leisure too, before we return to our hotel.

After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and head to Calais for our journey home on LeShuttle.
