Itinerary

Ferry to Calais and on to our hotel in Rouen, where we stay on a bed and breakfast basis.

Water lilies, pastel blooms and the soft light of the French countryside set the scene this morning as we visit the enchanting gardens of Monet’s home in Giverny. Wander through the iconic water garden and Japanese bridge that inspired some of the artist’s most famous works, with time also to explore the village at leisure, perhaps visiting the Impressionist Museum or Monet’s resting place.

This afternoon, we return to the historic city of Rouen, where half-timbered streets and a magnificent Gothic cathedral create one of Normandy’s most atmospheric cityscapes. We enjoy free time to explore the Old Town at our own pace before an evening at leisure.

A trio of contrasting coastal gems awaits today as we discover some of Normandy’s most charming seaside towns. We begin in lively Trouville-sur-Mer, where a morning market, sandy beach and traditional fishing harbour create a vibrant start to the day.

From here, we continue to elegant Deauville, often described as the Parisian Riviera, where grand villas, wide promenades and a touch of glamour line the seafront. Our final stop is picturesque Honfleur, a historic port beloved by artists, where slate-fronted houses, narrow streets and a postcard-perfect harbour provide a timeless end to the day before we return to Rouen.

Our journey back to Calais includes time in the elegant seaside resort of Le Touquet, one of the gems of France's beautiful Opal Coast. Enjoy time at leisure to stroll along the promenade, browse the boutiques or relax in one of the many cafés before continuing to the ferry port for our return sailing home.
