Looking for a taste of the Continent but closer to home? The enchanting island of Jersey is the answer. Historically, Jersey's strategic position between England and France has made it attractive to invading armies and it has been fought over numerous times throughout history. Today, it is the island’s unique mix of influences, abundance of natural beauty and mild, sunny climate that make it so appealing, from the rugged cliffs of the north to the long, sandy beaches of the south. With all of this and more packed into a mere 46 square miles, there is plenty to explore on the beautiful Channel Island gem during our time at leisure, with a tour of the island’s highlights also included.

Itinerary

From a morning pick up in your local area, we travel by coach to our hotel, arriving in time to enjoy dinner.

We transfer to Poole and board the ferry as foot passengers, arriving in Jersey in the afternoon and checking into the Monterey Hotel, where we stay for the next six nights.

Enjoy a day at your own pace on the beautiful island of Jersey. Stroll along sandy beaches, explore charming villages or browse local shops. Take the chance to visit historic sites such as Mont Orgueil Castle, relax in a café by the sea, or simply take in the fresh coastal air and stunning scenery.

Our tour takes in Jersey’s spectacular coastline. Highlights include St Aubin Bay and St Brelade’s Bay, one of the island’s most popular resort beaches, the rugged north coast overlooking the neighbouring Channel Islands and the famous Corbière lighthouse on the south-western corner of the island. We also visit St Ouen’s Bay with its miles of golden sand and rolling Atlantic waves plus picturesque Gorey harbour, overlooked by Mont Orgueil Castle. Throughout the day, we have plenty of photo stops and opportunities to stretch our legs.

Other optional excursions and car hire can be booked through our resort representative. A local bus service offers access to the whole island, so a hire car is not essential.

Spend three days exploring Jersey at leisure. This delightful island blends British charm with a touch of French flair, offering golden beaches, winding lanes and a relaxed island atmosphere. Choose to delve into Jersey’s fascinating wartime history at the Jersey War Tunnels, discovering how the Channel Islands were the only part of the British Isles to be occupied by German forces during the Second World War. As Hitler ordered Jersey to be transformed into an impregnable fortress, hundreds of bunkers, anti-tank walls and tunnel complexes were built, traffic had to drive on the other side of the road and the island was moved to Central European time.
You may also wish to spend time in the historic capital, St Helier, with its bustling harbour, markets and cafés, or discover more of the island’s beautiful coastline – from dramatic cliffs and sheltered bays to peaceful country paths. However you choose to spend your time, the island’s gentle pace and stunning scenery make it the perfect setting to relax, explore and enjoy.

We check out of our hotel, spend some free time in St Helier and catch the return ferry to Poole before continuing to our overnight hotel back on the mainland.

We check out of the hotel and continue our journey home.

We fly to Jersey, where we are met on arrival and escorted to our coach for the short transfer to our hotel in St Helier.
