Itinerary

From a pickup in your local area, we travel by coach to our hotel, with a stop along the way to visit to the popular seaside town of Bournemouth, offering the perfect chance to enjoy a relaxing stroll along the pier or indulge in some vinegary chips on the beach. There's time to explore the bustling town centre too, with plenty of shops and cafés.

After breakfast, we take an exciting round-trip journey on the Swanage Railway for an unforgettable ride behind the legendary Flying Scotsman. Steeped in history and engineering brilliance, the Flying Scotsman is one of the world’s most iconic steam locomotives, famed for its record-breaking speed and elegant design. As the powerful locomotive steams ahead, you’ll be transported back to the golden age of travel - an evocative experience for railway enthusiasts and nostalgic travellers alike. We also enjoy some free time in Swanage to relax on the beautiful sandy beach, enjoy a walk along the seafront, or wander to its cafés and shops.

Accommodation

We’ll stay at a well-appointed hotel in Bournemouth, either the Heathland Hotel, the Royal Bath Hotel, Suncliff Hotel or the Trouville Hotel. All rooms are en suite and other facilities include a bar and restaurant.

Your hotel will be confirmed approximately 3 weeks before departure, therefore we cannot guarantee that the hotel will have a lift and/or ground floor rooms and may be unsuitable for those with limited mobility.

Hotel Rating

Hotels with a JG3 rating tend to be a more formal style of hotel, often part of a hotel chain, or are very-welcoming family-owned properties. Generally, they offer a greater range of facilities and services, and bedrooms tend to be a little more spacious with additional features. Public areas are larger and include lounge seating, bar and restaurant with good quality food served either buffet style or waiter service.

Hotel Rating

Accommodation in our JG4 category is of an even higher standard, typically offering a wide range of facilities and services. Bedrooms are designed to make your stay the most comfortable possible and the staff provide a service that reflects the detail and quality. You can also expect higher standards of food and beverages.
