Itinerary

Ferry to Calais and overnight stay in the Reims area on a bed and breakfast basis.

Our journey through France includes a stop in the beautiful city of Metz, where impressive architecture, grand squares and winding streets are waiting to be explored. Admire the striking Gothic cathedral, browse the shops or find a café for lunch as you discover this characterful city at your own pace. Afterwards, we continue towards our base in Munster, in the heart of France's Alsace region – not to be confused with Munster in Germany!

Enjoy a leisurely morning in Munster, with time to explore the local market or simply soak up the atmosphere. Alternatively, join your tour manager on a gentle countryside walk to the Versant du Soleil cheese farm, around 2km each way, for a taste of rural Alsace.

This afternoon, why not join our optional excursion to Colmar? Travel by local train with your tour manager and discover the colourful streets, canals and distinctive architecture of this much-loved Alsatian town, often known as 'Little Venice'. There's time to explore at your own pace before returning to Munster.

Full Day

Strasbourg awaits today, where French and German influences meet in a captivating mix of grand squares, historic streets and riverside scenery. Enjoy free time to explore at your own pace, or join our optional guided walking tour to discover more of the city's fascinating history and famous sights. Later, we continue to the pretty town of Obernai, where there's time to wander its atmospheric streets, admire the traditional architecture and soak up the Alsatian charm.

Today is all about the storybook villages of Alsace. First, we visit Riquewihr, where colourful half-timbered houses and cobbled lanes create one of the region's most enchanting scenes. We continue to Ribeauvillé, another beautiful town surrounded by vineyards and overlooked by the ruins of three hilltop castles. Our final stop is Bott Frères Winery, where we discover the flavours of Alsace with a local wine tasting.

Back at the hotel this evening, we round off our stay with a special farewell dinner featuring a traditional Munster cheese fondue – a delicious taste of the region.

Full Day

As we begin our journey home, we stop in the elegant city of Nancy. Discover the beautiful historic centre at your own pace, perhaps finding a spot for lunch or admiring the magnificent Place Stanislas, one of France's most impressive squares. With time to explore before we continue our journey, it's the perfect final taste of French culture and character.

We check out of the hotel and head to Calais for our journey home on LeShuttle.
