Itinerary

Ferry to Calais and overnight stay in the Reims area on a bed and breakfast basis.

We make our way to our overnight stop in the Basel area, with an en-route excursion to Strasbourg. The capital of the Grand Est region, formerly known as Alsace, Strasbourg sits on the border (the river itself being the border) with Germany. Explore the Old Town with quaint colourful houses and twisting alleys, the canals of Petit France and the magnificent Strasbourg Cathedral.

We continue on our journey to our main hotel Garda Sol, in Lake Garda.

We board our boat for a scenic round-trip cruise on Lake Garda. Pass by picturesque villages and lush landscapes on this delightful experience, as we glide across the serene waters. Later, we enjoy some free time in Sirmione.

Join us for an optional excursion to explore the unique city of Venice. Lining the canals are grand palazzos, many of them dating back to the 14th century, while other attractions include St Mark’s Square, the Bridge of Sighs and of course the gondolas that ply their trade up and down the waterways.

We start the day with an early breakfast before heading out on a trip to Toscolano, to discover Storo and Saone, and the scenic beauty and unique attractions of each location. We stop for an hour in Molveno, a picturesque village nestled by the shores of Lake Molveno. Known for its crystal-clear waters and impressive mountain views, Molveno offers a perfect spot for relaxation. We enjoy a leisurely walk along the lake or explore the charming streets lined with quaint shops, before moving on to Mezzolombardo, a town famous for its wine production and historic architecture and beautiful buildings.

Next, we stop in Trento, home to the impressive Buonconsiglio Castle, which offers a glimpse into the city's medieval past. We stroll through the bustling Piazza Duomo, surrounded by stunning Renaissance architecture, before we visit Peschiera del Garda and discover the ancient walls and lakeside promenade, taking in the panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. We then make our way back to Toscolano.

The scenic drive around Lake Garda offers breathtaking views of the shimmering waters and the surrounding mountains. Starting from Toscolano, our journey takes us through picturesque towns and lush landscapes. Be captivated by the charming architecture and vibrant atmosphere of Garda Town, where you can explore local cafes and shops. Our drive takes us to Peschiera, where we can enjoy a stroll along the lakefront before we make our way back to Toscolano.

We begin our return journey and make our way to our overnight stop in Haguenau, via Strasbourg.

We continue towards Calais for our ferry journey home, stopping en route at Lille. We have free time here to enjoy lunch at leisure.

Hotel Rating

Hotels with a JG3 rating tend to be a more formal style of hotel, often part of a hotel chain, or are very-welcoming family-owned properties. Generally, they offer a greater range of facilities and services, and bedrooms tend to be a little more spacious with additional features. Public areas are larger and include lounge seating, bar and restaurant with good quality food served either buffet style or waiter service.
